On April 23, 2013, Occasions Unlimited of Paducah was announced as the winner of the 3rd annual Xtreme Business Makeover contest hosted by KeeFORCE and a team of twenty additional well-respected business partners. The contest ran from January through early April. The program was designed to showcase what local businesses have to offer the community, and to use those resources to help an existing business advance to a higher level of success. Twenty businesses located in the Purchase Region applied for this year's contest. An independent panel of judges made up of five community & business leaders were given the task of determining the top-3 finalists with Occasions Unlimited emerging as the winner of the grand prize valued at nearly $45,000 in business products and services.
Occasions Unlimited was purchased by Allison Hart in 2008 from its previous owner. Occasions Unlimited is passionate about providing all the resources; tents, backdrops, table decorations, flowers, tables, chairs, linens, dinnerware, catered food and servers for wedding receptions, meetings, birthday and anniversary parties or any occasion that calls for perfect planning. Occasions Unlimited is extremely supportive of large scale charitable events in the community. For anyone who has attended any large fundraiser in the Paducah area, most likely you will have seen services and rental equipment donated by Occasions Unlimited. The judges of this year's Xtreme Business Makeover noted, "Occasions Unlimited seemed the best poised to take full advantage of the prize package. We felt that the additional resources provided by the XBM prize would be put to immediate use. Hart's passion for her business rang strong. We could see a strong vision for Hart's vision to move forward given the right opportunities. The Xtreme Business Makeover provides that opportunity for them".
Occasions Unlimited will receive a host of goods and services that includes IT support, print / television / online advertising, marketing & branding services, HR consulting services, website design services, banking services, financial life planning, special event services, hardwood flooring, legal services, on hold messaging, business risk assessment, office equipment, promotional products, a communications audit, a review of tax structure and bookkeeping systems and leadership training.
"There were so many worthy businesses and organizations that applied, it was truly a difficult task for the judges to narrow it down to one winner. We are very happy for Occasions Unlimited and we look forward to working with them in the months to come," stated Terry McKee, President of KeeFORCE. "The Xtreme Business Makeover contest has proven to be a great way for business leaders to come together and provide support for other growing businesses within the community. We want to thank everyone that took the time to submit an application, the five judges for taking time to determine our winner, and most importantly thank you to all of the business partners that made this project possible!"
